  • 1. What products does Weimako develop and produce?...

  • 2. Does Weimako develop and produce only bio-based packaging?...

Weimako develops and produces both - bio and mineral oil-based packagings.

As we take responsibility for people and the environment and think outside the box, responsible treatment of people and nature is one of our principles. For this reason, we have decided to develop bio packagings. In doing so, we have set an example: our product innovation demonstrates the responsible use of resources.

  • 3. Does Weimako also offer a full service, such as decoration or contract filling?...

Weimako is specialized in the development and production of bio- and mineral oil based packagings: pencil tubes, caps, lipbalm sticks, jars, cans and closures. We supply both undecorated and ready-decorated packagings made of your desired material. In case of a full-service request for a ready-filled pen or jar, we will gladly put you in touch with our renowned cooperation partners and coordinate the filling of the products by our contract fillers.

  • 4. Which standards/ formulations does Weimako serve?...

Our bio-based packagings are approved for filling with NATRUE and VEGAN formulations. The products and materials used meet the requirements for packaging that comes into contact with foods and the relevant FDA regulations in accordance with EU Regulation No. 10/2011 of 14 Jan. 2011.

  • 5. Does Weimako own a patent on bio-based packagings?...

Our process with proprietary material mixtures has been registered for patent. This is how we produce our cellulose pencil, for example. We produce our 'CelPen' from recycled wood fibers.

The development of our bio-based products is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

  • 6. What materials are used in our products?...

Our bio-based materials consist of cellulose granulate and can be extruded or injection-moulded. The formulations used contain a wide variety of bio-polymers such as cellulose, starch, lignin, natural resins, natural waxes and natural oils, biological additives and natural reinforcing fibers. Solvents are completely banned from the production process.

Our environmentally friendly materials have a regenerative raw material content of bio-based polymers of up to 95% (depending on composition). Our new thermoplastic compound generation conserves limited natural resources.

  • 7. What manufacturing processes does Weimako use and where does it produce?...

Our production is located in Germany and works with modern extrusion and injection equipment.

The latest extruders are used to extrude e.g. pin tubes in classic extrusion process. These are extruded continuously from solid to viscous hardenable masses under pressure from a shaping opening.

In injection molding, we produce on DEMAG or Arburg lines, among others, lipbalm sticks, front and end caps as well as jars, cans and closures.

All process steps are certified, according to GMP 2023/2006, energy according to DIN 16247-1:2012, REACH-certified and compatible with EU-regulation of the cosmetics industry 935/2004 u. 2023/2006, quality management system: DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 ff.
