Sustainable packaging, environmentally conscious use: Weimako Bio Packaging
Second generation wood
Our packaging can be made from up to 100% bio-based, renewable raw materials such as wood, cellulose, PLA, etc. We tailor our solutions to your individual customer requirements. The wood or wood shavings we use are sourced from regional sawmills and furniture manufacturers in the D/A/CH region.
Environmentally friendly diversity
Our GOLD LINE packaging materials are industrially compostable and/or recyclable. Our packaging options, including pen sleeves, caps, lip balm sticks and screw cap jars, are microplastic-free in the GOLD LINE SERIES in the decomposition. They contain 0% mineral oil-based raw materials! We already offer a wide range of designs, colours and shapes. But we are also looking forward to your individual wishes. Test us.
High-quality workmanship
Our products are manufactured using state-of-the-art technology, which ensures precise tolerances, perfect finishes and excellent decoratability. This creates elegant looks, paint finishes and even 3D effects.
Funding and certificates
The development of our bio-based products made from renewable raw materials is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and are patented. They comply with all relevant regulations, including REACH and DIN EN ISO 9001, which underlines their quality and sustainability.
At Weimako, we produce extruded and injection-molded packaging for the cosmetics, stationery and food supplement industries according to customer specifications. Our modern production facility in Germany manufactures sharpenable pencil cases, caps, lip balm sticks, jars, tins and closures in high quality from bio-based and classic plastics.
With state-of-the-art plant technology and production lines of the latest design, we guarantee precision, low tolerances and a perfect surface. This reduces waste and saves costs for us and our customers. Our production works in multi-shift operation and meets all quality standards, including GMP, REACH and DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
Our injection molding process on DEMAG and Arburg lines produces lip balm sticks, caps, jars, tins and closures. These are used as raw parts for the decorative cosmetics industry and as packaging for food supplements and skin care products.
We extrude bio-based and classic plastics using the classic extrusion process. Modern extruders guarantee low tolerances and a perfect surface. Our cores are used as raw parts for the cosmetics and stationery industry, from which lip liner, eyeliner, kajal pencils or writing instruments are made.
We only use bio-based materials, including cellulose granules made from second-generation wood. These are made from recycled wood fibers and are sustainable and environmentally friendly. Our materials enable high-quality, sustainable packaging that is suitable for both the cosmetics and stationery industries.
Weimako is a leading provider of sustainable packaging for the cosmetics and food supplements industry, based in Tutzing near Munich. Since its founding in 2015, we have been committed to developing packaging solutions that protect the environment and make a positive contribution to the packaging industry.
By using second-generation wood from wood chips of the wood processing industry, we utilize existing resources and significantly reduce waste. Our innovations, including the cellulose pencil ‘CelPen,’ contribute to reducing the ecological footprint.

Shaping the Future: Project CREATE
Weimako is a proud member of the CREATE research consortium. In collaboration with experts from industry and science, we promote knowledge exchange to drive sustainable innovation in the bio-based plastics industry. This is how we ensure future-oriented packaging solutions for the cosmetics sector.
We develop, produce, and distribute sustainable packaging solutions for the cosmetics and stationery industries as well as dietary supplements: Sharpenable pen casings for cosmetic and writing pens, front caps/protective caps and end caps for pens, lipbalm sticks, bio-based jars, tins, bottles, and closures, as well as cleaning and test swabs (link to respective products).
Weimako develops and produces both bio-based and mineral oil-based packaging.
As we take responsibility for people and the environment and look beyond the horizon, responsible handling of people and nature is one of our principles. For this reason, we have decided to develop biopackaging. With this, we have made a statement: Our product innovations demonstrate a responsible use of resources.
Weimako specializes in the development and production of bio-based and mineral oil-based packaging: pen casings, caps, lip balm sticks, jars, bottles, tins, and closures.
We supply both undecorated and fully decorated packaging made from your desired material. If you require a full-service solution for a fully filled pen or jar, we are happy to connect you with our renowned partners and coordinate the filling of the products through our contract fillers.
Our bio-based packaging is approved for filling with NATRUE and VEGAN formulations. The products and materials used meet the requirements of EU Regulation No. 10/2011 of January 14, 2011, for packaging that comes into contact with food, as well as the corresponding FDA regulations.
Our process with proprietary material blends has been patented. With this, we produce, for example, our cellulose pencil. We make our ‘CelPen’ from recycled wood fibers.
The development of our bio-based products is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
Our bio-based materials consist of an extrudable and injection-moldable cellulose granulate. The formulations used contain various bio-polymers such as cellulose, starch, lignin, natural resins, natural waxes, and natural oils, as well as biological additives and natural reinforcing fibers. Solvents have been completely eliminated from the production process.
Our eco-friendly materials have a renewable raw material content of up to 95% bio-based polymers (depending on the composition). Through our new thermoplastic compound generation, we conserve the limited available natural resources. (Link to materials)
Our production is located in Germany and operates with modern extrusion and injection molding facilities.
On state-of-the-art extruders, pen casings, for example, are continuously extruded under pressure from solid to viscous, curable materials using the classic extrusion method through a shaping opening.
In the injection molding process, we produce, among other items, lip balm sticks, front and end caps, as well as jars, tins, and closures on DEMAG or Arburg lines. All process steps are certified according to GMP 2023/2006, energy according to DIN 16247-1:2012, REACH certified, and compliant with EU regulations for the cosmetics industry 935/2004 and 2023/2006. Our quality management system is in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and beyond. (Link to production)
One aspect of staying technologically ahead is our collaboration with universities, particularly with departments in the fields of materials science and plastics engineering, as well as the targeted involvement of bachelor’s and master’s students from the “Renewable Resources and Bioenergy” study program. If you are from a university or a student interested in a cooperation with us, we look forward to hearing from you.
We offer bachelor’s and master’s students exciting opportunities, such as in the form of a thesis, a working student position, or an internship – both in the commercial and technical fields. Our facility in Tutzing is easily accessible by S-Bahn from Munich. Careers at Weimako
