The formerly small fishing village of Tutzing with its approximately 10,000 inhabitants is home to far more companies with an international background than one might think at first glance. You can find competent service and craft businesses, professional consultations and much more. The business world offers goods and services for everyday life, but also unusual, not everyday items. Among them there are advanced medical and laboratory technology, experts in high-quality plastics processing, business consultancies and software developers.

The business location is interesting from many points of view. The very good public transport connections is only one important reason for many business people. It is therefore not surprising that companies with a special offer settle in Tutzing.

Since 2016, the company Weimako has been researching in the field of bioplastics. It sees itself as a pioneer and is a young, ambitious company specializing in the development, production and distribution of sustainable packaging solutions for the cosmetics and stationery industry as well as jars, tins and closures for food supplements.

The products are used in both the decorative and care cosmetics industries for eye and lip liners, crayons, kajals or lip balm sticks. In the stationery industry, pencil tubes and caps are increasingly used as an environmentally friendly alternative to the well-known wooden and plastic pens.

Weimako takes its ecological responsibility to reduce pollution of the world's oceans seriously and has thus developed a pencil tube made of biogenic materials. The resulting cellulose tube is 95% bio-based and offers an ecological and economical alternative to classic plastic and wooden pencils.

Produced from recycled wood fibers, the "CelPen" is an environmentally friendly and sustainable cellulose pencil.

This innovation has led to the development of a high-quality cosmetic bio-packaging that is microplastic-free, compostable and recyclable. In addition, various BioPolymers such as cellulose, starch, natural resins, waxes and oils are processed.

Another biodegradable product is the reusable drinking straw made of cellulose/wood. The advantage here over paper straws is that it does not become soggy and remains tasteless. It can be cleaned by hand or in the dishwasher.

The development of the biobased products is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and both the 'CelPen' and the lip balm stick have been registered for patent.

Production is based in Germany and uses modern extrusion and injection molding equipment. The company has made a good name for itself abroad and supplies in the B2B business the European foreign countries up to North and South America.
